…the little things that make the day a little better…
— Bman’s ABC Burger + CPK Red Velvet Cake + W&S Cooling Rack- – I love grocery shopping…went to three this week : )
- – Bao steaming on a weeknight is NOT a good idea
- – Neighborhood cat visiting
- – A friend of mine came over and insisted that I watch “The Cove“…wow. Check it out, if you can. It hasn’t had much press, as films of this nature do. It has prompted me to seriously consider testing my own mercury levels, and to seriously consider their cause and message.
- – Brioche baking – Attempt one at making the Cheeseboard’s version of brioche…messed up the recipe by adding an extra egg. I’ve also figured out that the wonderfulness of this bread lies in the recipe requiring heavy whipping cream, buttermilk, and a lot of butter. Gonna try for scones next, before attempt 2.
- – Lawn trimming – stopped by Osh and bought a “green” lawn/grass trimmer. I think its funny that man/muscle-powered tools have a new “good for the environment” sticker on them. I was planning on buying it regardless, but it does make me feel a little better about it. With the rain loosening packed soil and grass, trimming edges was relatively easy and quick! A few more weekends with rain and the lawn should look pretty darn good : )
