Biannual Cellphone purchase
Storm needs a new cell phone because her contract is up, which means...decisions. When it comes down to it, it's between the LG Voyager and the Apple iPhone...for now -_- Now, the weighing...
Voyager
Pros:
- It has a KEYBOARD that has individual keys
- $100 contract renewal money, +$50 online rebate
- unlimited texting
- GOOD reviews, and good design
- I can use my trans card, from my current phone
- GPS comes with the plan
Con::
- $79/month plan to utilize it, $69/month each if I grab my brother onto my plan...but that's an if.
- I hate LG's OS, and this basically copies the iPhone
- Bluetooth doesn't actually work with the devices I need it for
- $1.99/meg download
iPhone
Pros:
- It's an iPhone!!!!!!!!!!
- My laptop would actually be able to detect it
- I have friends who can help me out, tell me when I have updates, and warn against badness
- $59/month, which actually adds up to be cheaper in the 2-year contract than with Verizon
- unlimited data download
- widgets...free widgets...
Con:
- No real GPS, but will update(?) with a version of googlemaps
- 8 gig is $399...that hurts my wallet, but still is cheaper with 2-year contract
- iPhone is still going through revisions
- Glass screen +drop + 2-year contract = something broken
- Obviously expensive and thus prone to be stolen
... maybe more thoughts later. In the meantime, gonna go visit the Apple Store in Seattle. :)
